• “Sam is an incredible educator: generous, smart, and with an eye for what will make a story more compelling and more beautifully written. She understands what makes great writing work and knows how to help you move your work closer to that ideal. She delivers feedback with clarity and compassion. Sam is a delight to work with.”

  • “Samantha Keller's assessment of my YA fantasy novel was invaluable. Her questions and comments highlighted under-developed aspects of my character's journey and guided me towards the exciting revision currently in my agent's hands.”

  • "After finishing my first novel, I shared it with a number of colleagues for feedback and did a rewrite, moving chapters and introducing new characters. Still not satisfied with the outcome, I decided to contact Samantha Keller, which turned out to be the best step I could have taken. Her suggestions were concise and insightful. She offered an honest review of the manuscript, the storylines, and character development, and with her support I rewrote the book and am delighted with the published novel. I recently started my second novel and will come back to Samantha for her experience, guidance, and assessment."

I’m Not Only Interested in the Writing, I’m Interested in the Writer

Working with me is not only about your work—it’s about becoming the writer you’re proud to be.

I grew up in South Africa and, after a decade in London, moved to Connecticut, where I completed my MFA at Fairfield University. My first published novel, THE LIGHT REMAINS, received an honorary mention in the Fairfield Book Prize and will be published in 2025. My short fiction won the Anthony Grooms Prize and appeared in The Connecticut Literary Anthology, 2024. My work has been a Narrative Story of the Week, a contest finalist in American Short Fiction‘s Halifax Ranch Fiction Prize, and shortlisted for the Bridport Prize. My first children's picture book, ARE YOU AN ALIEN?, was illustrated by my mother and published in the UK. You can read some of my writing here. I am represented by Elizabeth Rudnick at the Gillian MacKenzie Literary Agency.

As much as I love writing, I love working with other writers. I know how challenging it is to bring a book into being, and I believe that writing is a skill that can be taught. My coaching focuses on guiding, teaching, and supporting writers so they not only finish their books but grow in confidence and ability.
