Do you ever wish you’d written that book?
It’s not uncommon for a people in mid-life to look back and wonder how things might have been different if only they’d had the time to nurture their creativity. Life can get in our way, and we end up lovingly living our labels—parent, partner, profession—instead of fulfilling our creative dreams.
As you enter the second chapter of your life, navigating the rejuvenation that comes with a newly emptied nest, a career shift, or another life transition, you may find yourself with the time to pursue your creativity.
If writing a book has ever been your intention, I’d love to work with you.
Perhaps you're already most of the way through a novel, a memoir, or a collection of short stories? Maybe you have the spark of an idea and don’t know how to make it glow? Maybe you’ve been writing all your life and need support honing your skills?
Where do you start? How do you turn an idea into a story? How do you structure your writing practice and find time to write? How can you develop your skills, or refine your work?
That’s where I come in.
I’m Sam Keller, a published fiction writer, Developmental Editor, and Author Educator. By Author Educator I mean that not only am I interested in helping you with your writing, more importantly, I’m interested in helping you become a better writer. Applying the same principles contained in the proverb: “Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime,” I intend to give you the skills to build your craft. We won’t only work together to produce a piece of well-edited writing, I will teach you what you need to know to write for a lifetime. I will help you find clarity and build confidence in your writing voice, and make steady progress through a set of services designed to meet your needs: Define, Refine, and Review. This approach will guide you from idea to manuscript, with a focus on strengthening your skills so you can write with confidence long after your book is complete.
“Sam is an incredible educator: generous, smart, and with an eye for what will make a story more compelling and more beautifully written. She understands what makes great writing work and knows how to help you move your work closer to that ideal. She delivers feedback with clarity and compassion. Sam is a delight to work with.”
